Living in the joy of fear
Written @ Sunday, 15 August 2010, 1:00:00 AM
I know I have not been blogging for almost two weeks! Seeing my daily blog hits drop from 3-digit figures to 1-digit figures! Now I'm feeling really guilty for not blogging so long, but I had a valid reason :P I have been out early and back home very late for everyday in the past week! So this blog post will supposedly be a long one because I'll be detailing events for almost two weeks, though I'll try to make it short and sweet :D

ok last sunday was Esther's birthday! YAY :D she's really one friend who can always make me smile no matter how dark my day is, and since i'm a very optimistic person, my dark days are really VERY DARKK :< so thank God for placing her in my close circle of friends ^__^ I knew she loved CJ7, so I called up all the major soft-toy shops in singapore like minitoons, action city and even artbox, but they don't sell CJ7 merchandise anymore, not even a small keychain! But thank God again, Lynn Yang has a penpal in China who recently sent a huge genuine CJ7 soft-toy over to her, and the best part was that the toy was actually with her friend who stayed a few blocks away from me only! So yay, thanks Lynn Yang and congrats on turning older esther! :D

Last sunday in church I also met a Vietnamese Christian by the name of Thi (Phillip). He's my cell group member's mother's friend's friend, so yeah work that out XD basically he was gonna stay in Singapore for about a week to experience the Christian culture in Singapore. I didn't expect to be his tour guide around Singapore for the week, but one conversation led to another and I found myself offering to bring him around, which was probably one of the best decisions I made this week because I've learnt so much about Vietnam from him! Apparently, Christianity is condemned by the Vietnamese government, who wants the general population to believe the government is the highest, which is contradicted by Christian belief that Jesus is the highest. So the condemnation is so severe, that Christians are not allowed to have government jobs, and if you're caught spreading the Gospel in public, you can be deported! Generally that was the main 'highlight' information I got from him about Vietnam, which really opened my eyes as to how open and lucky Singapore really is (: so anyway, Monday I brought him to Marina Square to catch Inception (I don't get what's so difficult to understand about it!) before going to One Fullerton to catch the NDP fireworks before heading to Lau Pa Sat. Tuesday had prayer walk together with Jerald and Zhiyang. I guess Thi really loved the open culture of Singaporeans and how open we really can be to spreading the word of Christ (: Wednesday I took the day off as Jerald brought him to bible school, but I had to tutor my friend over at her house o.O Thursday took him to Sentosa, where he totally loved the Luge and Songs of the Sea! Friday brought him to Botanic Gardens and Chinatown before sending him off at night on a bus to Penang, but not before we played a match of basketball!

To not spam too many pictures, I guess I'll put most of the pictures we took together into a page. Four main 'couple' photos, with 7 individual shots and 3 scenery shots to describe where we went (: most of the photos are in his camera, so I guess I'll have to wait till he returns to Vietnam before I get the pictures.

skylift!
snacks while waiting for Songs of the Sea!
